It’s been a while. But today warrants an update. First of all, yay for holidays – only 2 weeks but there is still plenty o’ fun to be had.
The flowers are all opening and best of all we have had a birth! We have a baby chicken. It was so cool, I was giving the chooks some fresh water and saw a little yellow fluff under the chook shed. Black chook has been clucky for a couple of weeks but not the extent that I’ve seen others, so we weren’t too concerned about it. I didn’t realise the egg had been under her for nearly a month. So we have now set up some baby chicken food and a shallow dish of water, so Peepling doesn’t drown, and a ramp up into the chook shed.
In other news, Brodie is slowly getting better. Apparently it could take up to 4 months for him to recover. He has physio every day, which he doesn’t always like. If it hurts he pretends to bite you, but lets you keep going with it. He is able to lift his head and look around and feed, wag his tail, blink (he wasn’t doing that for a week or so), and his bark is getting back to normal. He is also able to make his ‘wookie’ noise again. When the weather is good, he spends most of the day on the lawn. If we put him on a hill bit, he wriggles down the hill, which is pretty cute. We have developed a theory that even when he is better, he won’t let us know because he is getting too spoilt. Rex (the other pooch) tries to muscle in on the extra care, he squeezes into Brode’s bed. We have to keep an eye on him, so that he doesn’t sit on Brodie…
The bathroom is still in progress – having trouble deciding on wall finishes. The tiles I really like are about $190 m2, and we need about 20m, so it is unlikely we will go ahead with that one!

I'm a bit worried today - I found out my pooch wasn't well this morning. I haven't found out how he went over the day. Joe said that Brodie was having trouble standing... He called the vet who said that it sounds like arthritis, I hope that's all it is :-(
